Rules and Guidelines for the Rotary World Cycling Championship 2025
Who Can Participate?
The Rotary World Cycling Championship welcomes a diverse group of participants from around the world. Eligibility is open to:
Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Innerwheelers.
Friends of the Rotary family, sharing the spirit of community and service.
This event is a celebration of friendship, sportsmanship, and meaningful action, embodying the Rotary values.
Ranking and Teams
Club Team Rankings: Teams must consist of:
Two members from a Rotary, Rotaract, or Innerwheel club.
One guest affiliated with the Rotary family.
Teams represent a single club, even if the members are from different clubs. A single club may register multiple teams.
Race Overview
Participants will compete in a unique and thrilling format:
Duration: One hour of cycling.
Course: A secure 2-km loop in the scenic Geneva countryside, completely closed to traffic.
Goal: Cover the greatest distance possible within one hour, at your own pace and ability.
The competition emphasizes inclusion and encourages everyone to enjoy the challenge, whether they’re seasoned cyclists or enthusiastic beginners.
Race Categories and Start Times
Cyclists will compete within the following categories:

Key Guidelines to Keep in Mind
- All participants should adhere to event safety protocols and follow the course marshals’ instructions.
- Cycling jerseys or team colors representing your Rotary club are encouraged to build team spirit!
- Only registered participants will be allowed to take part in the races or represent clubs.
- Rankings are based on distance, fostering both personal achievement and team camaraderie.
